 Project Description

The National Park Service (NPS) Northeast Region Office in Boston is undertaking a Special Resource Study to determine the national significance, suitability, and feasibility of designation the Coltsville Industrial Historic District, in Hartford, CT, as a unit of the national park system. As part of the study process, the NPS is seeking to facilitate public awareness of the study and encourage public input into the study process. This website provides information about Coltsville and the special resource study as well as providing opportunities for the public to submit comments and ask questions electronically.

 

Coltsville National Historic Landmark Nomination

The Coltsville Historic District in Hartford, CT, is being nominated for designation as a National Historic Landmark (NHL). On October 10-11, 2006, the National Park System Advisory Board Landmarks Committee will review the nomination. If accepted, the Advisory Board will recommend it to the Secretary of the Interior, who then designates NHLs.

Public officials, property owners in the Coltsville Historic District, and the public are invited to provide comments to the Advisory Board, which will be included in the documentation for the nomination, which is available on this website. Comments should be mailed to John W. Roberts, National Historic Landmark Survey, National Park Service, 1849 C Street, NW, Washington, DC 20240. Letters may also be faxed to 202-372-2229.
